ટૂંકું ને ટચ : Inshorts – FARMERS PROTEST
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court stayed the enforcement of the three contentious farm laws at the center of agitation by farmers and said that a committee would be created to take over talks to end the crisis.
Earlier, the Supreme Court said it was seeking to address the issue in the best way and had the power for the moment to suspend the rules.

“These are matters of life and death. We are concerned with laws. We are concerned with lives and property of people affected by the agitation. We are trying to solve the problem in the best way. One of the powers we have is to suspend the legislation,” said the Chief Justice.
We want the issue to be solved and that’s why we’re making the committee. Send us the names, we’re going to decide,”We want to solve the problem and that’s why we are making the committee. Give the names to us, we will decide,”
During the January 26 Republic Day parade, the high court also issued a notice to farmers’ unions about a plea from the Delhi Police to avoid a tractor rally.
On Monday, the Supreme Court revoked the Centre for its handling of the protests of the farmers and suggested that it would continue to apply the contested farm laws.
The court said, adding, “We don’t want to make any stray observations about your negotiations, but we are extremely disappointed with the process,” “We are extremely disappointed with the negotiation process.”
A clutch of petitions questioning the new farm laws as well as those raising issues relating to the ongoing unrest at the Delhi borders were heard by the apex court.
This is a very sensitive case,” said the bench, adding, “There is not a single petition before us that says these farm laws are helpful. We’re not economic experts; you tell us whether the government is going to put farm laws on hold or we’re going to do this, the bench said. We are sad to say that the Centre was not able to address the issue and the agitation of the farmers.
