Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 2021, the central government has to provide pucca houses to the economically weaker section, low income group and middle income group of the country who do not have their own house. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (પ્રધાનમંત્રી આવાસ યોજના) is being implemented by the Modi government from 22 June 2015. The target of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is to provide own house to each eligible family by the year 2022. Under PMAY Yojana, the government will cover slum dwellers in urban areas, living in kutcha houses and persons belonging to EWS, LIG and MIG Income Groups.

As you all know, a subsidy of Rs 2.67 lakh is provided by the government on home loan interest on buying a house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Uttar Pradesh Awas Vikas Parishad will provide houses at affordable rates under this scheme. Applications have been sought under this scheme for about 3516 houses in Uttar Pradesh. Whose booking is starting from 1st September 2020 and the last date of booking is 15th October 2020. These houses are located in 19 cities of Uttar Pradesh state. People from poor families will be able to buy these houses for only ₹ 350000. All those people whose annual income is less than ₹ 300000 are eligible to apply for these houses. The Uttar Pradesh Awas Vikas Parishad had earlier kept the time for paying the installment of the house up to 5 years, which has been changed to 3 years.

Awas Yojana January 2021 Update
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana was launched in 2015 by the Prime Minister of our country, Shri Narendra Modi. The goal of ensuring housing for all by 2022 was set by the government behind the launch of this scheme. Under which 1.12 crore houses will be constructed by the year 2022. Under this scheme, approval has been given by the government for the construction of more houses in the urban area, after this approval, the total number of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has now become 1.1 crore, a meeting was held on 20 January 2021 in which 14 State and Union Territory officials participated
In this meeting, it was decided to build 1.6 lakh new houses, information about this has been provided by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the ministry has also sought suggestions from the states to amend the project
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 41 lakh houses have been completed so far, while 70 lakh houses are under construction, all the basic facilities are present in the house constructed under this scheme, all the states and union territories are also successful under this scheme.
